Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka in South India. It is known to have a pleasant climate, energetic people and culture. * Government Museum
Government Museum in Bangalore was founded in Mysore by Surgeon Edward Balfour in 1865, which also makes it one of the oldest museums in India. The museum is divided into 18 galleries which has sections geological and archeological objects. It stores paintings, terracotta, old jewelry, coins all from the times of the kingdoms and their reign. Two inscriptions of the Hal midi and Kannada had been excavated in 450 AD.
* HAL Aerospace Museum
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Aerospace Museum is the oldest aerospace museum in India. It is a part of HAL Heritage Center and Aero Space Museum and is a help to all those who study Aeronautic Engineering, as the students need to know how are air machines need to be dealt with. It exhibits aircrafts, air engines, and helicopters, and also tells the history of Indian aviation.
* Kempegowda Museum
Kempegowda Museum is one of Indian’s recent museums. It had been established in honor of Yelahanka chieftain Kempegowda who had founded the city of Bangalore. The building has been colored in the traditional colors of military quarters, red and white. The first floor has a gallery of photographs. There are wooden stairs which take the visitors to Kempegowda’s history. It also has paintings of forts, temples, inscriptions of early Bangalore.
* Folk Museum
The Folk Museum in Karnataka is located in Kumara Park and covers a land of 15 acre. It offers folk music played at the background and shows video recordings of folk dances. Objects used in the old days in the regular day to day lives have been exhibited, such as utensils, milk churners, manual grinding stones, etc. They also have puppets, weapons, costumes, artistic objects, etc.
* Gandhi Bhavan
Gandhi Bhavan was established in 1965 at Kumara Krupa Road, under the supervision of President, Dr.Rajendra Prasad. It has been made in honor of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and the main motive of the ‘Bhavan’ is to teach what Gandhiji had wanted to teach the people. The museum comprises picture gallery which displays the entire life of Gandhiji, from his early life to his death.
