Temples hold a lot of importance in Hindu mythology. Temples are that holy and sacred place where God exists and people visit that place to make there God happy, without any selfish reasons. * The temple is very sacred and religious place, therefore, there should not be wearing small and indecisive clothes here. Women should cover their heads and enter the temple. In the famous temples of the country like Tirupati and Guruvayoor, dress code is strictly curtailed. Here men and women are prohibited from wearing pants and trousers. Whenever you go to visit a famous temple, please also know about the dress code of the place.
* Some temples are open only in the morning and evening, therefore, before going to the temple, definitely know about the time of opening of the temple. Before entering some temples, the ticket has to be purchased. Even some big temples have to take special tickets for quick sighting. There is also no permission to carry the camera anywhere.
* According to Hindu belief, it is necessary to be retired from bath and regular work before going to the temple. In many temples of south India, there are ponds for bathing where devotees are required to take bath before bathing. It is strictly prohibited for women to enter the temple or any religious place during menstruation. In Ayyappa Swamy Temple of Kerala, women of menstrual age are not allowed to enter.
* Before going to the temple, it is a tradition of taking offerings to God or offering offerings to God. You can also take his beloved floral or coconut for God. Offering offerings in the temple has a different significance.
* In the temple you should worship by joining both hands. There are religious as well as spiritual reasons behind this. It is said that by adding one hand, some specific points of the body become functional by performing pooja, which results in positive energy from the body. Therefore worship them only by adding hand in the temple.
