A platform surrounded by railing and is projected from the wall, on any floor, of the building and is surrounded by a railing is known as Balcony. It is usually attached and accessed from the Bedroom. It is meant for relaxing. It may or may not have a roof.
Here the guidelines for the Balcony explained as per vaastu. Since, the guidelines explained here will enable us to be ready for the time-consuming task of construction of a House. As Vaastu is a science, there is logic and reasoning behind every guideline. As a Vaastu Expert, I have attempted to explain these guidelines rationally and scientifically, so that you can decide what you want to follow and what you don’t.
# North to northeast and east direction is considered as positive direction and south and southwest are considered as negative directions to construct balconies.
# The house is also given merits according to the location of the balconies. If the flats have balconies from north to northeast or from northeast to east then it is considered to be the best flat and the ones that have balconies in the west are of mediocre quality. The flats that have balconies towards south and southwest are considered as inferior quality ones.
# Ensure that the floor of the balcony in the north and east is always lower than the floor of the main building compound.
# Roofs should always slope towards north or east but never towards south and west.
# Normally people use balconies for utility purposes and place washing machines here. With the machine comes the trap for draining the water. Be extra careful that these traps are never placed in the southwest zone of your balconies. These can result in draining the wealth of the family living in the house.
