Aloe vera, the ‘plant’ of immortality’ as the Egyptians called it, has been used for many different purposes since long. High amount of anti oxidant as well as vitamin C, E and beta-carotene bestow aloe vera with skin nourishing and anti aging properties. Aloe vera can moisturize the skin without making it oily. Also aloe vera is very effective in treating sun burn, stretch marks as well as tan. No wonder why it is used in almost every skin care product.

# Cleansing

We will start our Natural Skin Care Routine with Aloe Vera with cleansing. Take one of the four pieces of aloe vera leaf and slice it open to get access to the ‘gel’ inside. Poke it with a knife and squeeze some lemon juice over it. Now its ready to use for cleansing. Rub the aloe vera piece all over the face for one minute. Aloe vera is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti oxidants which work wonders for our skin. Lemon juice helps in cleansing and skin lightening as well as heals acne. Wipe your face with a damp cloth. This should be done daily.

# Scrubbing

Take another piece of aloe vera and slice it open. Scoop out the gel from inside and mix it with 1 tsp of salt. Now exfoliate your face with it by rubbing it on the face for 1-2 minutes. Salt is known for its excellent exfoliating properties. It unclogs the pores and prevents breakouts. Also salt can regulate oil production and moisturizes the skin nicely. Once done, wipe the face with a damp cloth or just wash it with plain water. Scrubbing should be done twice a week.

# Toning

The 3rd step of our Natural Skin Care Routine with Aloe Vera is toning. For this, take a piece of aloe vera, slice it open and take out the gel with the help of a knife. Mix 2 tsp of green tea (prepare it beforehand and cool it down) with it. Now, with a cotton ball apply it all over the face. Green tea is high in antioxidants which makes it an one-stop solution for all our skin concerns. Repeat daily.

# Moisturizing

Take out the gel from the last piece of the aloe vera leaf and add few drops of grape juice to it. You can use lemon juice, orange juice or any other citrusy fruit juice instead of grape juice. Mix the aloe vera gel and juice together to prepare the moisturizer. Apply it on the face and neck and you are done! Moisturization should be done daily.
