# Tea Tree OilUnless you have very sensitive skin, tea tree oil is a very effective remedy to treat pimples and acne. It is antibacterial in nature and acts on the bacteria that cause pimples and acne. Also, it soothes the inflammation and redness on the pimples. Not only that, it also helps dry out blackheads and whiteheads. Just dip a cotton ball in tea tree essential oil and dab it on the pimples. Rinse your face 15-20 minutes later. Another way of using it is to mix it with 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and apply the mixture on the pimples and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off.
# Steam
Steam can work wonders on your skin and is especially effective when you have pimples. Steam tends to open your pores allowing your skin to breathe. It rids your skin of oils, dirt or bacteria trapped in the pores and prevents infection and inflammation. To steam, use a large container filled with hot water and let the steam come in contact with your face for a few minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry before applying an oil-free moisturizer.
# Cucumber
Cucumber has a soothing and cooling effect on the skin. For this remedy, cut fresh cucumbers and let them steep in water for an hour. This transfers nutrients like Vitamin A, potassium and chlorophyll into the water. Strain the water and use it to drink and wash your face with it. Alternatively, you can also make a face mask out of cucumber by grinding one cucumber and apply the mask on your face and leave it on for 15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water. This will help clean out the dirt and bacteria from your pores.
# Baking Soda
You can use this remedy even if you happen to have sensitive skin. Prepare a paste by adding a few drops of water to some baking soda and apply it to clean skin and wait until it dries. After about 30-40 minutes, remove the paste with warm water and apply an oil-free moisturizer to your skin.
