3 DIY Ways To Make Kajal at Home

Kajal has always been an essential beauty product for women. It instantly enhances the eyes, making them look more beautiful and noticeable.

While there are many commercial kajals available, many prefer making it at home. In the past, kajal was homemade due to limited availability in stores.

Homemade kajal has cooling properties that soothe the eyes and can even help improve eyesight. Also known as organic kajal, it is free from chemicals, making it a safer option.

It not only purifies the eyes but also keeps them cool for a longer time. If you’re interested in making kajal at home, here are some simple recipes you can try using various ingredients.

# Method 1: Using Castor Oil and Almonds

Ingredients:

2-3 almonds
Castor oil
A clean, flat plate
A small container

Steps:

- Take the almonds and roast them over a flame using tongs. This will release oil as they burn.
- Hold them until they form soot on the surface.
- Collect the soot carefully using a spoon or knife.
- Mix the soot with a few drops of castor oil to form a smooth paste.
- Store the kajal in a clean container.

# Method 2: Using Ghee (Clarified Butter)

Ingredients:

A diya (oil lamp) or small bowl
Cotton wick
Ghee
A flat plate or metal surface
A small container

Steps:

- Place a cotton wick in a diya and fill it with ghee. Light the diya.
- Place a plate or metal surface above the flame, leaving a small gap for ventilation.
- Allow the flame to burn for a few hours so the soot collects on the underside of the plate.
- Scrape off the soot and mix it with a drop of ghee to create a smooth paste.
- Store it in a clean container.

# Method 3: Using Camphor

Ingredients:

Camphor tablet
A metal plate
A small container

Steps:

- Light a camphor tablet and hold a metal plate above it to collect the soot.
- Let the soot cool down and mix it with a drop of coconut or almond oil.
- Store the kajal in a clean container.

Tips:

* Always use clean tools and containers to avoid contamination.

* Perform a patch test if you have sensitive skin.

* Homemade kajal should be stored in a cool, dry place and used within a few weeks.
