Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan, is gearing up to embark on her marital journey with her fiancé, Nupur Shikhare. Nearly a year after their engagement, reports indicate that the couple is ready to take the next step and will exchange vows in January 2024.
As per Bombay Times, Ira and Nupur are planning a court wedding on January 3, 2024. Their engagement took place in a grand ceremony in September 2022, following two years of courtship.
The couple is said to be organizing an elaborate three-day wedding celebration in the picturesque city of Udaipur, and Aamir Khan has already begun preparations for his daughter's significant day.
Ira, at the age of 26, had previously disclosed her marriage plans and explained the significance of January 3, stating, We know that we want to get married on January 3, but which year... we haven't decided on that. January 3 is very special for us as that's the date when we first kissed.
Nupur proposed to Ira during a cycling event. He is a professional fitness coach and has trained celebrities like Aamir Khan and Sushmita Sen.
Ira and Nupur publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2020 and regularly share affectionate pictures and romantic moments from their time together on Instagram.
Ira is the daughter of Aamir Khan and his former wife, Reena Dutta. Following his divorce from Reena, Aamir married Kiran Rao in December 2005; however, they separated in 2022.
Ira made her entry into showbiz by directing her debut stage production in 2019, titled 'Euripides' Medea,' an adaptation of the Greek tragedy 'Medea' by Euripides. Nevertheless, she has consistently expressed her disinterest in pursuing an acting career.
