Ayushmann Khurrana has proven himself, time and again, to be an actor who gets into the skin of his characters. In his awaited Sriram Raghavan thriller, Andha Dhun, he has mastered playing the piano. His character is that of a blind pianist and to do justice to his part, Ayushmann has taken piano lessons for over 4 months. He even played the piano blindfolded in the last 60 days before he started shooting to ace his role on camera.
“Ayushmann ensured he kept practicing the piano through the shooting of the film. He rehearsed daily for about an hour to ensure that he keeps getting better at playing the instrument. He was clear that he wants to come across extremely convincing in the scenes that show him playing the piano. He was obsessed with it and the result is for everyone to see,” informs a source close to the project.
“I thank my piano coach Akshay Varma who worked with me tirelessly to ensure I perfect the skill of playing the piano. All the love my character is getting is because of his hard work. He put me through the grind of rehearsals and it was necessary. It’s not easy to learn a new musical instrument in quick time and I think we worked great as a team. All the hard work paid off on the first day of the shoot when I felt supremely confident while playing the piano,” says Ayushmann. Andha Dhun features Tabu and Radhika Apte in the key roles. The film is set to release on October 5.
