Actor Dev Anand's Juhu House Sold For ₹400 Crore, To Be Replaced By 22-Storeyed Tower

Renowned Bollywood icon Dev Anand, who accomplished numerous milestones during his lifetime, possessed a cherished abode in the upscale neighborhood of Juhu in Mumbai. Following the actor's passing, however, the property remained neglected, with his children and wife relocating to different cities.

It appears that the family has now made the decision to part ways with the bungalow rather than allowing it to endure further neglect.

Dev Anand constructed the residence in Juhu back in 1950, at a time when the area was far from the bustling urban center it is today. Instead, it was a tranquil enclave surrounded by lush greenery. The actor's demise in 2011 left the house uninhabited.

As per reports, Dev Anand's son has settled in the United States, while his wife, Kalpana, resides in Ooty with their daughter, Devina.

The iconic actor's bungalow has been acquired by a real estate company for an astonishing Rs 400 crore. Presently, the location of the residence is one of the city's most prime areas, housing the residences of numerous influential industrialists and celebrities.

According to reports, the bungalow will be demolished, making way for the construction of a brand-new 22-storey building.

Dev Anand, along with his wife and children, resided in the Juhu home for four decades. However, following his demise, there were no occupants to care for it.

The family also sold some of their properties in Panvel for similar reasons.
