Gadar 2 Star Sunny Deol Takes Ailing Dad Dharmendra To US For Treatment

Bollywood luminary Sunny Deol, currently reveling in the success of his film Gadar 2, has reportedly taken a hiatus from his busy schedule to travel to the United States. His purpose is to provide care and support to his ailing father, the iconic actor Dharmendra. According to reports, the duration of their stay in the United States will be approximately 15 to 20 days, contingent on the medical treatment required for the veteran actor of Sholay fame.

According to India Today, Dharam sir is currently 87 years old and has been experiencing health challenges. Consequently, Sunny decided to accompany his father to the USA for further medical attention. Their stay will extend for 15-20 days or as long as deemed necessary for the treatment. There is no cause for concern.

In the meantime, Gadar 2 has made headlines by amassing a staggering Rs 515.03 crore in just one month. The film has ascended to become the second highest-grossing Hindi film, surpassing the lifetime earnings of the Hindi version of Baahubali 2, directed by SS Rajamouli.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster. In the film, Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel portrays Sakina. The story unfolds during the tumultuous partition of India in 1947, with Gadar 2 following Tara on another daring cross-border mission, this time to rescue his son, played by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured in Pakistan.

Turning attention to Dharmendra, he entered matrimony with Prakash Kaur in 1953, prior to his Bollywood debut. Besides Sunny, Dharmendra is the father of Bobby Deol and daughters Vijeta and Ajeita from his first marriage. However, during his acting career, Dharmendra's relationship with the renowned actress Hema Malini blossomed, culminating in their marriage in 1980. Together, Dharmendra and Hema Malini have daughters Esha and Ahana. The legendary actor was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
