Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir took up the noble initiative of feeding the poor, as he set up a stall offering free meals to one and all.
The opening batsman, through his charitable trust, the Gautam Gambhir Foundation, started an initiative to feed the poor.
The southpaw, who has played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20Is for India, took to Twitter to share his experience of the charitable work.This video shows that Gambhir’s efforts were received quite well, with a large queue eagerly waiting in front of his stall to get their share of the pie.
Gambhir’s tweets caught the eye of Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, who immediately offered his aid. Interestingly, Gambhir had previously shown his generous side, offering financial aid to children of all 25 CRPF personnel who were killed by Maoists in the Sukma attacks in Chhattisgarh.
