Bollywood actress Gayatri Joshi, renowned for her role in the movie Swades alongside Shah Rukh Khan, recently found herself in a tragic incident while traveling in Italy with her husband Vikas Oberoi. The unfortunate event occurred when Gayatri's car collided with multiple vehicles, including a camper van, during a complex series of overtaking maneuvers. The collision led to the overturning of the camper van on a rural road in Sardinia, Italy.
Tragically, a Ferrari involved in the accident caught fire, resulting in the loss of lives of the couple inside, identified as Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, from Switzerland.
Reflecting on the incident, Gayatri Joshi shared with The Free Press Journal, Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here (multiple-car collision). Thankfully, we both emerged unharmed, by the grace of the divine.
Various visuals depicting the heart-wrenching accident have surfaced on social media platforms.
It has been reported that this mishap unfolded amidst the Sardinia Supercar Tour, an event where high-performance cars parade from Teulada to Olbia, showcasing their luxurious and high-end features.
Gayatri Joshi had made her mark in Bollywood through her debut performance in the critically acclaimed movie 'Swades' in 2004, where she portrayed the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan. However, following her appearance in 'Swades,' Gayatri chose to step away from the acting limelight, focusing instead on her personal life.
She embarked on a new chapter by tying the knot with Vikas Oberoi, the Managing Director of Oberoi Constructions, a prominent real estate company in India. Since then, she has deliberately maintained a low profile, steering clear of the public eye and refraining from any further film appearances.
