South Indian star Dulquer Salmaan was at his cheerful best when he, along with actor Vidya Balan, went bonkers at the 'Son of Abish' show anchored by stand-up comedian Abish Mathew.
What happens when you bring together a Bollywood queen, a Malayalam star and a stand-up comedian? A riot of fun and laughter.
Stand-up comedian Abish Mathew’s YouTube talk show ‘Son of Abish’ brought together Vidya Balan and Dulquer Salmaan in a chat that had the stars in splits.
From talking about what life was like growing up as younger siblings to Vidya Balan’s love for Chembur in Mumbai and Dulquer’s passion for automobiles, the talk show presents the actors in a never before seen light.
Vidya Balan discusses her upcoming film Tumhari Sulu and gets candid about getting blacklisted in college for working on a TV show.
“I got on the blacklist because I did a TV show soon after I got into college. Before Hum Paanch, there was a show that never saw the light of day – thank god for me!” exclaims Vidya.
Dulquer explains the origin of his unique name.
“It was miserable growing up with this name,” says Dulquer, adding, “I then went to America and they had just no idea what this name was. I used to work in food courts and I had a badge, which would always get stolen. Because the American boys thought it would be really funny to wear my badge and walk around.”
They even discuss stretch marks! While Abish and Dulquer trade stories about their stretch marks, an amused Vidya Balan remarks, "I'm loving the fact that two boys are discussing stretch marks and I'm just, you know, it's like a tennis match - I'm looking from Dulquer to Abish."
While the interview ends with Vidya Balan clutching her stomach from laughing so hard, Dulquer went on to praise the show later. Taking to Facebook, he said, “Had the absolute pleasure of appearing on the #Sonof Abish show with the wonderful and infectious @balanvidya hosted by the super fun @abishmathew ! I think the most fun I’ve had done any interview format show yet. Loved every minute of it.”
