Durgotsava or Durga Puja is annual Hindu festival, celebrates worship of the Hindu goddess Durga, the most popular incarnation of Devi and one of the main forms of the Goddess Shakti. Durga Puja festival marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil buffalo demon Mahishasura,widely celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal and the biggest Hindu festival celebrated throughout the state. * BagbazarThere are thousands of Durga Pandals across the city of Kolkata but Bagbazar is one of the most famous and oldest Kolkata Durga Puja Pandals,

* SiliguriHundreds of puja pandals are set up every year in the Siliguri with colourful lighting and sounds. Famous puja pandals are DeshbandhuPara, Hakimpara, Rabindra Sangha and the oldest durga puja in this area.
* Cooch BeharCooch Behar host one of the oldest Durga pujas of Bengal and the gigantic sized Durga sculpture is known as Borodebi. Many buffaloes, goats, pigeons are sacrificed in front of the deity by the royal family of Cooch Behar.
