Umbrella Street in Patihani has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Located near the Rapti River and Chitwan National Park, the street is frequently filled with visitors taking photos and recording TikTok videos while relaxing beneath the colorful umbrellas.
The 'Umbrella Street' infrastructure was developed last year with an investment of 18.6 million rupees in Patihani, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22, after authorities recognized the area as a new tourist attraction. Bishnu Mahato, the Ward Chairperson, estimated that around 4,300 people visited Umbrella Street on a Saturday alone. The entry fee is set at Rs 20 per person.
The number of domestic visitors to Umbrella Street continues to rise, with tourists coming from Pokhara, Kathmandu, Gorkha, Biratnagar, and Chitwan, as well as from other districts.
