1.
Any liquid dish detergent will clean your precious jewellery and give it the shine you require. Mix the liquid dish detergent with warm water and then soak your jewellery in the solution. Soak gold for around 15 minutes. Do not use this detergent to clean silver jewellery.

2. If your jewellery piece is not cleaned with liquid dish detergent then you can use ammonia, after a few days. Avoid washing gold jewellery frequently with ammonia, as it might dissolve the metal. Also, avoid cleaning your precious jewellery piece with ammonia if it has platinum or pearls in it. Mix one part of ammonia with 6-7 parts of water and stir the solution with a stirrer to make an even mixture. Soak the jewellery, only for a few seconds. Remove it with a tong or a strainer and rinse it under running water.

3. Another simple way of cleaning your precious jewellery is by cleaning it with toothpaste. Mix the paste in water and then scrub the jewellery piece with a soft toothbrush. If you are using toothpaste to clean silver jewellery then do not scrub the jewellery for a long time; also make sure that the toothpaste solution is diluted with more water.

4. Soda with water is good to clean dirt from silver jewellery. The soda solution will clean the dirt from silver and make the piece shine as well. 7UP cold drink is the best option to opt for, if you decide to clean your silver jewellery with soda mixed with water. Soak the piece in 7UP for 10 minutes and remove it. Run the piece through running water and scrub it a bit if you feel the dirt has not been removed properly.

5. Use boiling water only if you do not have stone studded jewellery. If your piece is plain gold or silver without any stone or pearl studded in it, then leave the piece in boiling water for 3-5 minutes and run it through warm running water.
