Ingredients

4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon amchur (dry mango powder)
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt, to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup bread crumbs
Oil, for frying

Method

- In a large mixing bowl, add the mashed potatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, amchur, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.

- Add the cornstarch and bread crumbs to the bowl and mix everything together until it forms a firm dough.

- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.

- Flatten each ball with your palms to form a tikki or patty shape.

- Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, gently place the tikkis in the pan.

- Fry the tikkis for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown.

- Remove the tikkis from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.

- Serve hot with your choice of chutney or sauce.
