Karachi Bun Kebab is a popular street food from Karachi, Pakistan. It consists of a spicy patty made with beef or chicken, served between two slices of soft buns, along with chutney and other condiments.
Ingredients
For The Kebab500g minced beef or chicken
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon red chili powder
Salt, to taste
Oil, for frying
For The Bun6 buns, sliced in half
Butter, for toasting
Tomato slices
Onion slices
Green chutney
Ketchup
Method- In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Mix well and knead for a few minutes to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
- Cover the mixture and let it rest for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
- Divide the mixture into equal-sized balls and flatten each ball into a patty.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the patties until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Toast the buns with butter until lightly golden.
- Spread green chutney and ketchup on the bun halves.
- Place a patty on one half of the bun, followed by tomato and onion slices.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
