Gulab phirni is milk and rice-based dessert which is relished by all. Rose petal lends a fragrant twist to the conventional phirni recipe.
Ingredients1 litre of milk
½ cup of rice, soaked in water for half an hour
3 tbsp dried rose petals
Few drops of pure rose water
½ cup of almonds, thinly sliced
Sugar to taste
Method* Take the rice and blend it into a coarse paste by adding some water. Keep aside.
* Heat the milk in a heavy-bottomed vessel. Once the milk starts boiling, slowly pour the rice paste into the hot milk. Keep stirring the whole time.
* Cook it for 20 to 25 minutes.
* Add the rose petals and cook until the mixture thickens.
* Add the almonds and sugar, and mix well.
* Remove from the heat and add the rose water to it.
* Let it chill in the refrigerator.
