Recipe- Delicious Dessert Trifle Pudding

Ambrosial dessert made of three layers– fruit, custard and jelly. This simple to make dessert looks amazing with its multiple layers that have so many colors, textures and flavours.

There are various versions of a trifle recipe; I have not used cake in this recipe but if you have got some at home you can add a layer of cake at the bottom.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vanilla custard powder
2 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup chopped fruits of your choice
7-8 blueberries
1 sachet of raspberry jelly
1 tablespoon chopped cashew nuts
1 tablespoon chopped almonds

Method

- Boil milk in a saucepan. When the milk is lukewarm, take 2 tablespoons out in a bowl and mix custard powder in it to make a paste. Mix well to avoid any lumps.

- When the milk boils, reduce the heat to low and add the custard paste to the milk slowly stirring continuously. Add sugar and simmer it (while stirring continuously) till it becomes thick and creamy. Take it out in a bowl and keep aside to let it cool. When it reaches room temperature, keep it in the refrigerator.

- Prepare the jelly as per instructions on the pack. Pour the jelly mixture in tall glasses.

- Pour it till 1/3 rd of the glass is filled. Keep the glasses in the refrigerator to let the jelly set. Do not keep it in the freezer. The jelly should be set in about half an hour.

- After 30 minutes, take the glasses out of the refrigerator. Check if the jelly is set otherwise keep them in the fridge for some more time to allow the jelly to set properly.

- Add a layer of chopped fruits on top of the jelly and spread them evenly with the help of a spoon.

- Pour the cold custard on top of the fruit layer. Sprinkle chopped cashew nuts and almonds or any nuts of your choice.

- Top it up with 2-3 blueberries. Repeat this process for the remaining glasses.

- Ambrosial trifle pudding is ready to serve.
