IngredientsLeftover Idli - 10 to 12 chopped
Tomato - 2 medium sized (pureed)
Boiled peas - 2 Tablespoon
Capsicum - 1 diced
Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
Curry Leaves - few chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Red Chillli powder - 1/4 Teaspoon or as per taste
Cumin powder - 1 Teaspoon
Chaat Masala - as per taste
Cashew Nuts - a handful
Coriander Leaves - as required
Salt - as per taste
Oil - 1 Tablespoon
Method* Heat oil in a pan. Saute cashew nuts on a low flame for few seconds.
* Take the cashew nuts out on a plate and keep aside.
* In the same oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
* Then add tomato puree, boiled peas. Mix well and cook.
* Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder, chopped capsicum and cook on a low flame for a minute.
* Add 1/2 cup water and cashew nuts. Bring the water to boil.
* Once boiled, add chopped Idli. Mix well to coat all Idli pieces.
* Garnish it with coriander leaves and switch off the gas. Sprinkle chaat masala on top.
* Delicious Idli Upma is ready to be served.
