If you like the mango dragon fruit refresher from Starbucks, you’re going to LOVE this recipe! Now you can make your own mango dragon fruit lemonade at home it only takes a few ingredients! Pitaya/dragon fruit is a tropical fruit indigenous to Central America. It is considered to be a superfruit, meaning it’s nutrient dense and high in antioxidants. Dragon fruit tastes similar to a pear or kiwi, though my daughter thinks it tastes a little like passion fruit, too!
Ingredients
¾ cup lemonade
¼ cup white grape juice
2 tablespoons 100% mango juice
1 teaspoon freeze dried pitaya/dragon fruit powder (or 2-3 teaspoons broken up dragon fruit chips, or 2-3 tablespoons frozen dragon fruit cubes)
Method- In a 16 ounce glass, add the lemonade, white grape juice, and mango juice.
- Add the pitaya/dragon fruit, either the freeze dried powder, the dehydrated chips, or the frozen cubes. Let sit for at least 2-5 minutes before adding ice.
- This gives the dragon fruit the chance to dissolve, rehydrate, and/or melt, while adding flavor. The drink will turn from a yellow/orange color to a deep magenta.
- Stir one more time, and then top off with ice. Enjoy!
