Dum Aloo Recipe is a very famous dish and it is prepared in most of the North Indian homes. This dish is also very easy to make and it looks very tasty. This is one such dish (Dum aloo recipe) which you can make very quickly and also tastes amazing if a guest suddenly comes to your house. So without any delay, let us tell you in detail about the recipe of making Dum Aloo .
Ingredients15 small potatoes, boiled in salted water
1 big onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup thick curd
1 bay leaf
1 pinch turmeric
1 pinch asafetida
1 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp dried coriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin
1 green cardamom
a small piece of cinnamon
1 clove
8-10 cashew nuts
1/2 tsp kasoori methi
1 tsp sugar
5 tsp oil
2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
Salt, as per taste
Method* First of all, peel the boiled potatoes and pierce them with the help of a chopstick.
* Now take a wok and heat 2 tbsp oil in it. Now add boiled potatoes (easy Dum aloo recipe) and fry on medium flame till it becomes light golden. After this, take out the potatoes in a plate and keep them.
* Now grind dry coriander seeds, cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, cloves and cashews in a mixer to a fine paste.
* Now heat 3 tbsp oil in the same pan.
* Add a pinch of asafetida, bay leaves and chopped onion. Sauté till onions turn light brown and then add ginger garlic paste and fry for 30 seconds.
* Add the spice powder prepared in step 3 and fry for 1 minute.
* Now take curd and beat it and slowly pour it into the pan and mix it with a ladle.
* Now add turmeric and red chili powder and mix well. Keep stirring it well with a ladle and cook till the oil separates.
* Add potatoes, kasoori methi, sugar and salt. Mix it well and let it cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
* Add 3/4 cup water and bring it to a boil on medium flame.
* When it starts boiling, cover the gravy and let it cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes or till the gravy thickens.
* Now turn off the gas and take it out in a serving bowl and your Dum Aloo recipe is ready.
