Recipe- Start Your Day With Oats Parfait With Fruit and Nuts

Parfait is a French word that means “perfect”. This recipe containing oats, fruits, almonds and milk is a perfect breakfast as it will provide you the essential nutrients and energy to kick start your day.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons regular rolled oats
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped fruits - apple, banana, strawberries
6-8 almonds
1 tablespoon raisins
1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

* Take 6-8 almonds in a bowl, add water and soak them overnight. Peel and chop them before adding them to the oats parfait.

* Take oats in a saucepan and pour in the milk. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence and mix well.

* Keep stirring from time to time so that the oats don't stick at the bottom of the pan.

* Take the oats porridge out in a bowl and keep aside to let it cool slightly.

* Place about two tablespoons of oats porridge at the bottom of a mason jar or a glass.

* Top it with about two tablespoons of chopped fruits, half a tablespoon of chopped almonds and half a tablespoon of raisins.

* Repeat the layers, then top with a strawberry for garnish.
