Chilli Bread is a tasty, spicy snack made by sautéing bread pieces with tempered tomato sauce, onions, capsicum, garlic and garnished with spring onions. Chilli Bread is a great evening snack and ideal for parties & special evenings.
Ingredients
4 slices bread
1 tbsp spring onion
1 tbsp oil
For the Sauce1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp garlic finely chopped
1/2 cup onion finely chopped
1/4 cup capsicum finely chopped
1 tbsp red chilli paste soak 2-3 red chillies in hot for few mins, grind it a paste with required water.
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1/2 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
1/4 cup water
salt to taste
Method- Take 4 bread slices.
- Cut into small squares. Set aside.
- Toast it in oil until golden brown and crisp.
- Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Heat oil in the same pan add garlic fry until golden.
- Add finely chopped onion, capsicum along with required salt.
- Saute until onion turns transparent. Just saute for a minute.
- Add soya sauce, red chilli paste and tomato sauce.
- Give a quick mix add little water.
- Let the sauce boil for a minute or two or until its slightly thick.
- Add toasted bread pieces to it.
- Toss it well finally garnish with spring onion.
- Give a quick mix and switch off.
- Bread pieces should not be too soggy, it should be moist.
- Serve Chilli Bread hot.
