Vrat wale sookhe aloo is spicy falahari recipe that can be served during Navratri and other fasts. You can serve these falahari sookhe aloo as a sabzi or snack. This sookhe aloo sabzi which is popularly known as Vrat wale aloo is super quick Recipe. I make this sabji often for weekend breakfast/brunch and that tastes best with whole wheat paratha and a bowl of fresh Dahi.
Ingredients400 g potato boiled
2 Tbsp Ghee
1 teaspoon cumin seeds jeera
2 Tsp Sesame seeds toasted
Salt to taste
1 Tsp Red chilli powder lal mirch ka powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder Dhania Powder
1 teaspoon mango powder amchoor
½ teaspoon cumin powder jeera powder
2 green chillis chopped
1 Tsp ginger chopped
4-5 Tbsp Coriander leaves/cilantro chopped
Method
- Cut boiled potatoes into small cubes.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add ginger and green chilli along with cumin seeds.
- Cook for a minute and add boiled and cubed potatoes.
- Stir fry for 2-3 minutes and add cumin powder, red chilli powder, Salt, coriander powder, mango powder and stir well to combine.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes in 2-3 more minutes on slow heat. Add 1-2 tablespoon of water if required.
- Switch off the heat and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped coriander before serving.
- You can serve these spicy falahari potato with kootu ki roti for vrat. You can serve them as it is or with whole wheat paratha.
