Whenever a person with a kind and genuine heart is trapped in a fake and disingenuous relationship, it can be a very devastating and heartbreaking ordeal. There is a certain pain there that comes from knowing that you’re just stuck in the midst of an illusion. It can be quite exhausting to have to bear the weight of a relationship that doesn’t really have any realness or legitimacy to it. It’s a lot harder to carry a fake relationship than it is to sustain a real one.
A fake relationship is something that you would never want to find yourself in. It’s such an unfortunate scenario that victimizes a lot of people. On the one side, there is someone who is totally uninvested, cold, and distant. And on the other side, there is someone who is totally genuine in their intentions; someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to actually make the relationship last.
It’s so sad to have to bear witness to this kind of relationship setup. But more than it is sad, it’s also quite confusing. How does one end up in a relationship like this in the first place? Why would anyone want to be in a relationship that they’re not totally invested in? Of course, we can’t generalize. Every relationship is going to have its own unique story with its own distinct characteristics that define it. However, this is usually the narrative that leads to the establishment of a fake relationship.
One person who is genuinely looking for love actually commits themselves to someone who seems to be interested in reciprocating that love and affection towards them. Once that commitment is made, things seem all fine and dandy at first. However, after a certain period of time, all of the allure and initial magic of the relationship vanishes – and the relationship will grow into its true gruesome character.
And unfortunately, one partner is already emotionally invested in the relationship and would be willing to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work. And the other person seems totally disinterested and leaves all of the heavy liftings for their partner to do.
So, one person ends up having a compromised sense of judgment and analysis. They allow their feelings of love and emotional investment to cloud and impair their decision-making. That’s just what happens when someone allows their infatuation to get the best of them. They end up compromising their ability to be rational and practical. And when one is stuck in this kind of state, it’s easy to overlook all of the red flags that something sketchy is going on.
Why is it so difficult to see that one is in a fake relationship? And more importantly, why is it so hard to actually leave one? Well, there are certain fears and anxieties that a victim may face when pondering the thought of leaving their relationship. They might fear to be alone. Their pride might make them unwilling to admit failure. And they might be anxious about the uphill climb they have to face after separation.
Getting out of a fake relationship isn’t an easy matter at all. It’s going to require people to be honest with themselves no matter how uncomfortable the truth might make them. It also requires a certain level of vigilance and self-awareness.
If you notice that a lot of these signs apply to your relationship, then sorry to say that you are actually stuck in a fake relationship that you need to get out of.
