No matter what you may set your sights on doing or becoming, if you want to be a contender, it’s mastering the ability to learn that will get you in the game and keep you there. -H.L. Roediger in Make It Stick
Learning is a permanent change in behaviour that results from experience. It is a process which allows people to adapt to their environment. Learning is a continuous process which starts in the cradle and ends in the grave.
Good learning abilities provide you with the potential of performing well in newer situations and make your roads to success smoother. So below are ways in which you can improve your learning abilities:
1. Have presence of mind: Effective learning is always a result of good concentration and interest. This aspect of personality needs attention and mere despairing in this regard cannot help. Absence of mind from the point of your concerns delays your learning process.
2.Getfeed back :Information about the results of an action or performance is called‘Feed back ‘. You may do the same mistakes again and again if you do not learn that you are doing wrong somewhere. Even if you are performing correctly ,feed back will encourage you to be on the same lines.
3. ‘Learning by doing’ :‘Learning by doing ‘ is an old concept about learning. Merely knowing the theory of a process cannot help unless you practice it yourself and the repetition of a task naturally removes mistakes that you commit.
4. Create learning environment : A good learning environment can be created by plugging all the loopholes that may affect the learning process.Minimum distractions are useful which improves concentration. You can put your heart to the activity that interests you.
5. Develop Interest and confidence :All the activities that attract your interest can be learnt fast and effectively so it is imperative that interest for a job or activity be created before handling it. Have cent percent confidence in yourself that you can learn a skill that interests you so much!
6. Set aside ego : Ego is the worst enemy of a learning. There are people who consider themselves master of trade in their initial stages of development and their ego stops all their further learnings and then they attribute their failures to this misfortunes.
FINAL WORD: The real learners are never satisfied with their learning. They are always inquisitive. They never feel to have achieved perfection and all successes that they get prompt them to learn more as they are never satisfied and become ultimately the leaders of a mission.
