You can never fully say that you love someone if you don’t trust them.
Trusting someone means that you believe in that person to never betray
you and your relationship. It means that you have confidence that they
are capable of keeping the promise you’ve made to each other and that
they value your relationship as much as you do.
Although fully
entrusting yourself to someone is rather difficult, you need to have
faith in them because being distrustful can sometimes reflect how you
truly feel about yourself. At times, some people project to others how
they feel and see themselves. You might have been doing the same too,
you just don’t notice it. Remember that for trust to exist and continue
to exist, you need to trust yourself first.
Here are some quotes about trust in a relationship to reflect on-
1. “A trusting heart will follow, only those who truly follow their heart.” – Anthony Liccione
2. “Deciding whether or not to trust a person is like deciding whether or not to climb a tree because you might get a wonderful view from the highest branch or you might simply get covered in sap and for this reason many people choose to spend their time alone and indoors where it is harder to get a splinter.” – Lemony Snicket
3. “Everyone suffers at least one bad betrayal in their lifetime. It’s what unites us. The trick is not to let it destroy your trust in others when that happens. Don’t let them take that from you.” – Sherrilyn Kenyon
4. “Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time.” – Maya Angelou
5. “If you cannot trust yourself, you cannot even trust your mistrust of yourself – so that without this underlying trust in the whole system of nature you are simply paralyzed” – Alan W. Watts

7. “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.” – William Shakespeare

10. “People that have trust issues only need to look in the mirror. There they will meet the one person that will betray them the most.” – Shannon L. Alder
11. “Relationships are mysterious. We doubt the positive qualities in others, seldom the negative. You will say to your partner: do you really love me? Are you sure you love me? You will ask this a dozen times and drive the person nuts. But you never ask: are you really mad at me? Are you sure you’re angry? When someone is angry, you don’t doubt it for a moment. Yet the reverse should be true. We should doubt the negative in life, and have faith in the positive.” – Christopher Pike
12. “The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in ” – Thomas Merton
13. “The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.” – Ernest Hemingway
14. “There’s never a reason to trust someone. If there’s a reason, then it’s not trust.” – Gerald Morris
15. “To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.” – George MacDonald
16. “Trust and faith bring joy to life and help relationships grow to their maximum potential.” – Joyce Meyer
17. “Trust in someone means that we no longer have to protect ourselves. We believe we will not be hurt or harmed by the other, at least not deliberately. We trust his or her good intentions, though we know we might be hurt by the way circumstances play out between us. We might say that hurt happens; it’s a given of life. Harm is inflicted; it’s a choice some people make.” – David Richo
18. “Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it’s broken, but you can still see the crack in that mother fucker’s reflection.” – Lady Gaga

25. “You see, you closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel.
