An Unique Identity card launched by Govt., Aadhaar card, is gaining more and more importance day by day. Government has already made it an important document in many sectors and now one more big news has come it.
In a fresh development, the Centre has made Aadhaar mandatory for opening bank account, financial transactions of Rs 50,000 and above. All existing account holders asked to submit Aadhaar to banks by Dec 31, 2017, failing which accounts will become invalid.
Linking of Aadhaar, according to the Centre's argument, is a measure to eliminate fraudulent practices such as multiple PANs held by individuals. The IT department has made provision for assesssees to link their PAN to Aadhaar on the efiling portal.
