To celebrate FIFA Fan Fests™ at Russia 2018 surpassing the five million mark, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura surprised two lucky visitors with FIFA World Cup™ Final tickets on Saturday.
Samoura was delighted to present the prize to father and son Aleksei and Dennis of Vladiostok, who were randomly selected from the crowd in Moscow. While doing so, she thanked the teams from the Host Cities, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and FIFA for all their hard work over many years to make these FIFA Fan Fests possible.
“This is definitely the best place to watch the FIFA World Cup outside the stadium, and this huge crowd proves that,” said Samoura, as she joined in the fun with thousands of fans at the World Cup's largest Fan Fest.
Across the 11 Host Cities, Russian and international football fans have flocked to the Fan Fests to watch live matches and enjoy an exciting array of music and cultural entertainment, all free of charge.
The record five million visitor milestone was reached ahead of the knockout phase – a huge achievement considering Brazil had welcomed 2.9 million visitors to the Fan Fests at the same point four years ago.
The Host Cities, LOC and FIFA are ready to welcome more fans from all over the globe in the coming weeks, culminating in the biggest football party of all on Sunday 15 July.
