It seemed as though Spain would be finishing Group B as runners-up, but their situation changed over the course of one wild minute on Monday evening.
In the 91st minute of their clash with Morocco, Iago Aspas put the ball in the net, had it ruled out for offside and then had the goal awarded when VAR intervened, taking the scoreline to 2-2.
At the same time, Iran were awarded a penalty against Portugal thanks to VAR, one which Karim Ansarifard converted to make the score 1-1.
These two goals changed the Group B picture and put Spain ahead of Portugal on goals scored.
