The Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Class 10 Senior SSC results were declared today - recording the lowest pass percentage in three years. At 88.74%, (Girls: 91.46%, Boys 86.51%) the success rate dropped marginally by 0.8% compared to last year.
Mumbai division’s overall pass percentage (freshers and repeater candidates) dropped to 84.9%, from last year’s 86.4%. This is the lowest success rate for the division in the last three years. It was 86.13% in 2015. Similarly, Maharashtra’s overall pass percentage fell to 85.74% this year, from 86.4% in 2016 and 87.7% in 2015.
Out of 17 lakh students in the state, 1.8 lakh failed in less than three subjects and have been allowed to keep term (ATKT) and move to the next grade. Around 48, 570 students secured above 90%.
