The Congress on Thursday ridiculed Prime Minister Modi for spewing hatred against it whenever cornered. “If in Parliament Modi ji is cornered, he again starts speaking against Congress…It is baffling to see how much hatred PM Modi has for Congress party n its leaders,” Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot tweeted.
“Whenever PM is questioned about his policies, he starts blaming past policies of Congress govts. When Modi ji goes addressing public rallies n people demand basic amenities, he criticises our previous PMs,” he said.
“Does the PM of India running a government with absolute majority has nothing else to talk about? Has he stopped thinking about anything else except hating opposition,” Gehlot asked.
In contrast, he said Rahul Gandhi is “only trying to emphasize that in Indian culture we have always celebrated differences n our divergent ways of life have never been a basis to hate other, rather it has been a basis to share n bond.”
He also welcomed former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee’s aide Sudheendra Kulkarni hailing Rahul as “truly a politician with a difference” on his remarkable speech at a book release here on Wednesday that “Congress and BJP can fight, but we need not and should not hate each other. This is what our nation and our religion teaches us.”
Gehlot said: “#RahulGandhi is spreading the message that compassion n understanding are most important in our culture. He is trying his best to change the environment of hatred created by BJP with his kind gestures n words. Our society needs healing touch to unite the communities.”
On a dairy owner and his driver beaten up by cow vigilantes in Kota (Rajasthan) on Wednesday, Gehlot tweeted: “BJP government is certainly not stopping mob violence, instead they are fuelling it in every way.
Their statements are just an eyewash,” he added.
