This book is the magnum opus of Salman Rushdie and later it was banned in India.This was the fourth novel of Rushdie banned in India. This book was banned for allegedly being insulting to the Prophet Muhammad. Muslim community feel that this book contains insults to the legend of Prophet Muhammad.
