Apple launched the iPhone 16 series earlier this month, highlighting improved battery life for the new models. Although the company typically doesn’t disclose RAM or battery capacity details, this information usually emerges post-launch. Recently, a Brazilian regulator revealed the battery specifications for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, indicating that all four models feature slightly larger batteries.
According to Blog do iPhone, the iPhone 16 series received certification from Brazil's Anatel agency on September 9, coinciding with Apple’s 'It's Glowtime' launch event. The Brazilian telecom regulator has listed the new models along with their battery capacities, a detail confirmed by Gadgets 360 through Anatel's certifications.
The regulator’s data shows that Apple has equipped the new iPhone 16 models with slightly larger batteries than their predecessors; notably, the iPhone 16 Plus also has a bigger battery, contrary to earlier reports. The table below highlights the increased battery capacities across the iPhone 16 lineup.
Three out of the four models in the iPhone 16 series have batteries that are about 6 percent larger than those in the iPhone 15. In contrast, the iPhone 16 Pro features a battery with over a 9 percent higher capacity than last year’s Pro model.
With the enhanced battery capacity, along with the new A18 and A18 Pro chips and improved thermal optimizations, the iPhone 16 series is expected to provide better battery life than its predecessors. However, Apple primarily assesses battery performance based on video and audio playback metrics.
Apple claims that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus provide an extra two hours and one hour of usage, respectively. In addition, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are said to offer four more hours of video playback than their predecessors.
