First Kiss- Love Or Lust?
By: Priyanka Maheshwari Thu, 08 June 2017 4:03:32
There’s an old nursery rhyme that begins, "Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry." When you’ve heard that little poem, you may have wondered, "What made the girls cry?" Aren’t kisses nice things that anyone would appreciate? Perhaps it all depends on whether or not Georgie Porgie was an honest person or just a selfish young man who didn’t think about the consequences of his actions. We all preserve certain kisses in the memory banks, whether hall of fame moments with your long-term love or forbidden smooches with someone else’s. But how do you end up penciled into another’s greatest-hits list?
There’s something special about a first kiss. It’s something unique shared between two people. It’s anticipated, practiced and even featured in movies. No wonder why some people can find it rather intimidating. Whether you already had your first kiss or are eagerly waiting to pucker up, there’s more to kissing than just what you’ve seen on the big screen.
Love
We’ve all had that one person (okay, maybe more than one) who we fell for, hard and fast. And then, every time you saw "your person," you got that nauseated feeling in your stomach.
You probably asked yourself, "Am I in love or is it just food poisoning?" But if you’re like me, maybe you just got that tingling sensation down below. Either way, you were clouded by euphoria and pure bliss. So, are you really thinking with your heart, or are you thinking with other parts of the body? Come on, be honest!
When you’re in love, you know you’re thinking with your heart. Yes, your person is hot and has other amazing external qualities, but you also can’t wait to get to know him or her even more than you already do!
SIGNS OF LOVE
- You want to spend quality time together other than sex.
- You get lost in conversations and forget about the hours passing.
- You want to honestly listen to each other`s feelings, make each other happy.
- He or she motivates you to be a better person.
- You want to get to meet his or her family and friends.
Lust
You may believe you have strong feelings for someone, but you might just be admiring more of the superficial characteristics about him or her.
One young woman allowed a young man to kiss her and later discovered that he had also kissed someone else he was dating. She felt betrayed. Why? Because his expressions of affection didn’t carry the level of commitment she thought they did. This kind of miscommunication often leads to hurt feelings and tears.
While lust triggers the part of the brain that responds to pleasure, it seems love lights up the region that gives pleasure meaning.
SIGNS OF LUST
- You`re totally focused on a person`s looks and body.
- You`re interested in having sex, but not in having conversations.
- You`d rather keep the relationship on a fantasy level, not discuss real feelings.
- You want to leave soon after sex rather than cuddling or breakfast the next morning.
- You are lovers, but not friends.
It`s so much nicer to be involved with someone your gut likes. Then you`re not always guarding against a basic suspicion or incompatibility. You must also give yourself permission to listen to your gut when it says, "This person is healthy for you. You are going to make each other happy." To be happy, take a risk, but also pay attention to the warning signs I presented. This allows you to wisely go for the fulfilling relationships you deserve.
