5 DIY Remedies To Get Rid Of Blackheads

It is a result of accumulation of all kinds of grime like dirt, sebum, oil and dead skin cells in our skin on a daily basis. Blackheads look like tiny, raised bumps on the surface of the skin, mostly black in colour. They are caused when oil and sebum block the pores on your skin. When the skin is not cleansed properly and the oil settles in the pores over time, the regular exposure to air oxidises the oils and blackheads are formed.
The most common area where the blackheads appear is the face. It is also, therefore, easy to take care of them. While there are cosmetic remedies like strips and creams available in the market, when it comes to your face, it is best to stick to as natural a remedy as possible.
Try these home remedies to get rid of blackheads without any pain:
* Baking soda and water
This is one of the easiest remedies to treat blackheads.Baking soda is one of the most commonly found ingredients in any kitchen. It helps to neutralize any pH imbalance that your skin may have, it also works great as an exfoliant to remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. For this quick remedy, mix two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of water together to form a paste. Massage the paste onto your face and rinse off with warm water. Since this formula can have drying effects on your skin be sure to moisturize your face afterward. It is best to use this remedy not more than 2 days a week.
* Lemon juice and salt scrub
For the quick and easy remedy, mix 1 tablespoon of sea salt, a teaspoon of lemon, and a teaspoon of water to make a coarse paste. Massage it onto your skin like any other scrub. Leave it on for a couple of minutes and wash it off with cool water. The ingredient have great exfoliation and anti-bacterial properties which can work great to remove blackheads over continued usage.
* Egg-white pore strips
Pore strips are a popular blackhead-removing remedy which is widely available commercially. However, you can make home-made pore strips to remove and treat blackheads. Egg-white has astringent properties which can also help tighten the pores. Dip a piece of paper towel in egg white and place it on affected areas. Put another layer of paper towel on top of that before letting it all dry. Remove and rinse when the paper towel begins to harden.
* Clay powder and apple cider vinegar
Mix clay powder (you can use Multani mitti) and unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a one-to-one ratio until they formed a paste. Apply it directly on clean skin and let it dry. Rinse it off with cool water.
* Honey and milk pore strip
You can make your own pore strip using milk and honey. Lactic acid in the milk helps remove dead skin cells and oil and honey packs anti-bacterial properties. To make your own pore strip, mix one tablespoon of whole milk with one tablespoon of organic, raw honey and microwave for about 10 seconds. Set it aside to cool a little and when you think it is cool enough you can apply it to the affected areas. Follow it by placing a clean cotton strip on top. Leave it on for about 10 – 15 minutes and gently peel the cotton off. Rinse with cool water and moisturize your face.
