With our daily exposure to heat, dust, and pollution, our skin suffers a lot. The daily exposure to these harmful environmental agents leaves the skin rough, dull, and patchy. This is why it is highly important to exfoliate from time to time, cleanse the skin and even tone it well. Of course, the market is full of commercial toners, but why risk your skin with the exposure to numerous chemicals? Natural remedies are always better and are devoid of any possible side effect. So, make your own DIY skin toner and help yourself protect and beautify your skin with natural ingredients.
# Camphor And Rose Water
Camphor has been used to cure skin issues since many centuries now. It is replete with anti-inflammatory properties and effectively soothes the skin, making it less susceptible to acne issues and pimples. Rose water helps in cooling the skin and contains hydrating and anti-bacterial properties that are suitable for all skin types. Mixing camphor with rose water helps in opening skin pores and reduces sebum secretion and excess oil from the skin.
Take a bowl of rose water and add a dash of camphor to it. Blend them well. Take a cotton ball, soak it in the mixture and dab it on your face, and wipe your face clean once it is applied all over. This mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks.
# Milk, Egg, And Honey
Milk is good for nourishment and supplies essential nutrients to skin, honey is a humectant and has antibacterial properties, and egg white removes fine lines from the skin making it look youthful and helps in treating dry skin. The mixture of egg white, honey, and milk tightens the skin pores and replenishes the skin.
Take a bowl and extract the egg white. Add 1 tablespoon each of milk and honey to it and blend all the ingredients well. Apply the thick paste evenly on the face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, until it dries. Wash it off with cold water.
# Chamomile Tea
Chamomile tea is great in curing skin ailments. It acts as a natural moisturizer and a bleach that tightens skin pores and lightens the complexion of the skin. Chamomile tea is best for those who have dry skin and those whose skin becomes patchy due to itching and irritation. It also helps in protecting the skin from sunburns. You can use both chamomile tea and the flowers for your skin.
Boil 100 milliliter of water in a pan. Add one chamomile tea bag to it and let it soak for around 5 minutes or more. Once the tea cools down, soak a cotton ball into it and dab it on the face until the skin pores soak the tea in. Leave it for 20 minutes so that the skin pores soak the tea and wash it off with tap water.
# Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) supplies the skin with numerous benefits. It restores the natural pH level of the body and enhances the overall complexion of a person. This ingredient effectively removes dead skin cells, sun tan, and shrinks open skin pores. Loaded with a lot of vitamins, malic acid, acetic acid, and citric acid, ACV also acts as a natural antibacterial and antifungal agent.
Take four tablespoons of distilled water and add two tablespoons of ACV to it. Blend it well and store it in a bottle. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and dab it onto your face and neck.
# Cucumber And Curd
While cucumber hydrates and cools the skin, it is also known to reduce swelling and redness from sunburn. Cucumber contains silica and antioxidants that cure dark circles, tighten the pores, and improves the skin complexion. Curd helps in lightening the skin tone and wards off fine lines and wrinkles from the face.
Take 2 to 3 tablespoons of unflavored sour curd in a bowl. Dip a freshly peeled cucumber in the curd. Dab this curd-smeared cucumber on your face and neck and apply it anti-clockwise for a better effect. Once the application is done, wait for 10 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
