Vetiver (khus khus) is a perennial grass of the family Poacea. Any plant that persists for several years usually with new herbaceous growth from a part that survives from season to season is called perennial. Vetiver grows in Tropical Asia and has been introduced to the tropics of both hemispheres. The height of this grass can go up to 5 feet.
Vetiver has a fragrance like fragrant grasses like lemongrass and citronella. This has an earthy woody scent somewhat resembling to warm uncut grass. Vetiver roots have oil in it which we often use in aromatherapy, perfumes, creams, and soaps as well.

To make a vetiver toner all you need is vetiver roots, some lemon slices, and water. Pour boiling water in a pan and add cool water to it, place roots and lemon slices into it. Leave it for a few hours. Strain and store this solution in a spray bottle. This is an excellent toner.
