6 DIY Moisturisers To Try For Oily Skin

When it comes to skin types, oily skin can be one of the most challenging to care for due to its sensitivity and tendency to develop acne. The overproduction of oil can also cause the skin to appear dull. Many people mistakenly believe that because their skin is naturally oily, they don't need to use a moisturizer. In truth, this misconception can worsen the issue and lead to more breakouts. Therefore, moisturizing oily skin daily is essential.
Depending on your skin's oiliness, you may need to moisturize once or twice a day. Here are some DIY moisturizers suitable for oily skin.
# Milk
One of the many advantages of milk is its content of lactic acid, which provides moisturizing benefits and helps maintain the skin's barrier. To use it, mix a quarter cup of fresh milk with a few drops of lime juice. Apply this mixture to your face and let it sit for ten minutes before rinsing off. Repeat this treatment once a week.
# Sunflower Oil
Rich in linoleic acid, sunflower seed oil hydrates and fortifies the skin barrier. Simply apply a few drops of sunflower oil directly to your skin without rinsing it off. For optimal moisture, use it at least once a day.
# Green Tea
Green tea helps prevent trans-epidermal water loss and keeps the skin’s moisture balance intact. To make a face pack, steep green tea bags in hot water, let it cool, and then empty the contents into a bowl. Add honey, mix well, and apply the pack to your face and neck. Wash it off after ten minutes. Use this moisturizing face pack 1-2 times per week.
# Rose Petals
Rose water is known for its toning and astringent properties, thanks to its rose petal extract. To prepare it, place some rose water in a saucepan, add one cup of rose petals, and bring to a boil. After cooling, strain the mixture. You can add aloe vera gel to the strained liquid and refrigerate it. Apply this mixture to your face every night before bed.

The moisturizing properties of strawberries can help reduce trans-epidermal water loss while nourishing and hydrating your skin. Mash two or three strawberries into a thick paste, then mix it with a tablespoon of fresh cream and one to two teaspoons of honey. Gently massage this moisturizing face pack onto your face and neck, then rinse thoroughly after ten minutes. Use this treatment twice a week.
# Lemon and Honey
Lemon acts as an astringent, while honey serves as an excellent emollient that moisturizes the skin and may help reduce acne. To use, combine the juice of one lemon with honey, mix well, and apply it to your face and neck. Rinse it off after 15 minutes for best results, and repeat this treatment 1-2 times weekly.
