Ingredients
Shea Butter melt and pour soap base - 500 grams
essential oil- 3 Teaspoons
fragrance oil of your choice- 2 Teaspoons
favourite dried flowers-2 Teaspoons
½ Teaspoon of your favourite colouring powder (optional)
Silicone soap mould
2 Teaspoons Honey
Double boiler set up
Wooden spoon
Method
Step 1: Cut Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base
Dice the VedaOils Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base with Glycerine into 1-inch cubes with a knife. Make sure not to dice the Melt and Pour Soap Base into bigger cubes as bigger ones take longer time to melt.
Step 2: Melt pieces of Homemade Shea Soap Base
Place the cubed natural shea butter melt and pour soap base in a double boiler. Place the double boiler over a medium gas flame and stir occasionally with the wooden ladle. Don't put the shea butter soap base directly over flame since it may cause burning and breaking down of compounds.
Step 3: Add your Favourite Essential Oil
Cool your melted shea butter soap base a little at room temperature and then add your favourite essential oil or essential oil blend. You can use various types of essential oil blends like Lavender and Citrus, and, Rosemary and Spearmint etc. Keep in mind to dilute your essential oils before adding them to the soap mixture.
Step 4: Add Fragrance Oil of your Choice
Add your favourite fragrance oil to a bit cooled mixture of shea butter soap base. Some fragrance oils suggested to add to your customized soap bars are Almond, Citronella, Jasmine, Peppermint, French Lavender, Rose and such. Mix your melted shea butter soap base properly before moving on to the next step.
Step 5: Add your Favourite Ingredients for Custom-made DIY Shea Butter Soap
Add your preferred customized soap making ingredients like dye powder, dried flowers and/or herbs, sparkles and such. Stir all the ingredients well and incorporate into the mixture.
Step 6: Pour Melted Shea Butter Soap Base
Pour your customized DIY shea butter melt and pour soap recipe mixture into the silicone moulds and let the mixture cool down at room temperature for around twenty-four hours.
Step 7: Take Shea Butter Soap Bars Out of Moulds
Turn your silicone mould upside down and gently release the soap bars from it by applying slow and uniform pressure. Do not rush to release the bars from the mould, it may cause the soap bars to break.
Step 8: Storing DIY Shea Butter Soap Bars in Glass Jars
Now your DIY Homemade Shea Butter Soap Bar The setting and cooling procedure might take a few more hours or days, so it's better to allow them to retain their shape and size in a glass jar.
