Women spend a fortune on cosmetic products to fix a broad range of beauty problems related to their skin, nails, teeth, and hair. The market is flooded with countless beauty products, all of which claim to be magic bullets in their own right.
From top-of-the-shelf luxury brands to all-natural herbal antidotes, there’s a product for every wallet, preference, and problem. The market for these products is ever growing, as gullible customers buy into every gimmick that the beauty industry throws their way. Most of the standard beauty products that are celebrated for bearing quick results do so because they are swimming with chemicals and parabens. The prolonged use of such toxic ingredients can irreparably damage the integrity of your skin, hair, nails, and teeth, which is an even greater price to pay than the actual cost of these products.
* Toothpaste for Acne
Acne, blemishes, and other skin breakouts are most common among teenagers. In fact, 70 to 87 percent of teenagers report having this problem.Acne can appear on the face, chest, back, and scalp. Excessive oil production, accumulation of dead skin cells, clogged pores, and bacteria are the four most common factors contributing to acne.
- Apply a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area before going to bed and rinse it off the next morning. Repeat the application daily for a few days until your skin is free of acne.
- Aloe vera gel is also effective for mild to moderate acne. Just extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf and apply it on the affected area, two to three times daily. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of aloe vera help kill the bacteria causing acne as well as reduce inflammation.
* Avocado Mask to Repair Dry Hair
If you wish to give your lifeless, strand-like locks a complete do-over, trust avocado to get the job done. It is replete with omega-3 fatty acids that can add some much-needed luster to your dry, damaged hair. This creamy fruit is known to exhibit deep-conditioning properties that will leave your hair ends soft and smooth.
- Take a whole avocado and smash it to make a paste.
- Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 4 tablespoons of olive oil to the paste and mix well.
- Apply the paste to your hair and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing.
* Sugar Scrub for Chapped Lips
When it comes to beauty, you simply cannot ignore your lips. Soft, pink lips enhance the appearance of your face, but cracked and dark lips can spoil your overall beauty.Aside from using low-quality lip care products, excessive exposure to direct sunlight, excessive smoking, high caffeine intake, and hormonal imbalances can lead to dry and dark lips.
- Make a lip scrub with 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix the ingredients well and use this mixture to gently scrub your lips for a couple of minutes, once a week. This will help remove dead skin cells and leave you with flake-free lips.
- To keep your lips moisturized, you can even massage your lips with lukewarm olive or coconut oil once or twice daily.
* Sugar Wax for Unwanted Facial Hair
Unwanted facial hair is an embarrassing beauty problem for many girls. However, you can get rid of your peach fuzz with homemade sugar wax.
- Mix together 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of water.
- Heat the mixture in a microwave for 20 to 30 seconds until it turns brown. Allow it to cool.
- Using a spatula, apply it on the areas where you want to remove the hair.
- Place a cloth strip over the mixture and smooth it out in the direction of the hair growth.
- After a few seconds, rip it off in the opposite direction of hair growth.
- Repeat the process as needed.
* Baking Soda for Yellow Teeth
For a bright smile, it is important to maintain beautiful, pearly white teeth. Good oral hygiene plays a key role in keeping your teeth sparkling white. However, hereditary factors, excessive consumption of tea or coffee, excessive smoking, and use of hard water can stain the teeth and make them appear yellow in color.
- Simply mix ¼ teaspoon of baking soda with a small pea-size amount of toothpaste. Gently brush your teeth with this mixture, once a week. The abrasive nature of baking soda will help polish the surface of the teeth and remove the stains. Make sure not to eat or drink anything right after using this remedy.
- Another good option is to rub fresh orange peel (the inside portion) over your teeth every night before going to sleep for a week. There are bleaching compounds in the peel that can reduce the yellow tinge on your teeth.
