Blackheads are the pesky bumps that arise when your skin pores become clogged, often resulting in their exposure to the air, leading to oxidation and a dark appearance. These nuisances can be triggered by various factors including stress, hormonal fluctuations, sleeping with makeup, smoking, and exposure to pollution. Even the accumulation of dead skin cells or follicular irritation can contribute to blackhead formation. Medications, side effects, or hormonal changes might also be culprits. While frequent salon visits aren't always feasible, fear not—treating blackheads at home is possible. Discover the best blackhead scrubs that offer an easy and effective solution to bid adieu to these little skin monsters conveniently from the comfort of your home.
Tooth paste and salt scrub
Take 1/2 spoon of a gel based tooth paste. The white, thick ones will not do in this case. Now add 1/2 spoon of salt to it and mix the two well. Apply this mixture onto the affected skin in a slow circular motion, preferably with the help of a soft toothbrush. Once you are done, let it set for 10 minutes and then again scrub lightly with the toothbrush before removing with a wet cotton ball and washing off with water. Follow with a moisturizer. You can see instant results. Do not repeat this treatment more than thrice in a month.
Masoor dal and milk face scrub
Soak 3 spoons of red lentils in raw milk overnight. In the morning grind the whole mixture to make a thick, granular paste. Use this paste for scrubbing your face and then let it set into a mask for 15 minutes. Scrub again with wet hands and then wash off with water.
Honey and almond scrub
Take 4-5 almonds and grind them lightly to end up with a granulated powder. Now add 2 spoons of honey in it and mix the two well. Use this thick pack as a scrubber on your face, concentrating on the areas that have got the black or whiteheads. After you have scrubbed, let the pack set for 10 minutes and then scrub again with wet hands before removing with a wet cotton cloth. This scrub can be ideal for people with dry skin.
Egg white and rice dust face scrub
Take 4 spoons of uncooked rice and grind it to make a granulated dust. Take an egg, separate the yolk and beat the egg white. Now mix the rice dust in this egg white and use this mixture for scrubbing your face, concentrating on the blackhead or whitehead prone areas. Continue scrubbing with light but firm pressure for 2-3 minutes and then let it set to a mask. Remove with a wet piece of cotton cloth after 10 minutes and wash off with excess water.
Baking soda and lemon juice scrub
Take 2-3 spoons of baking soda and add freshly prepared lime juice in it in sufficient quantity so that you end up with a thick paste. Now use this paste for scrubbing the affected area of your face for 2-3 minutes. Then let it set for another 7-8 minutes and then wash off with water. This treatment can give instant results, but is not recommended to use more than thrice a month.
Lemon Honey Mask
Take 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and add half a teaspoon of honey to it and mix it well. Apply this mixture on to your nose. Let it rest for about 15 minutes. Once it dries, wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat 3-4 times in a week for best results.
Oatmeal scrub
Take two tablespoons of oatmeal, three tablespoons of plain yogurt and a half lemon juice. Mix it well until you get a fine paste. Apply this on to your nose and the most affected area. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
Sugar scrub
Take three tablespoons of jojoba oil and mix it with one cup of white sugar. Stir it well until you get an evenly thick mixture. You can also use olive oil or almond oil instead of jojoba oil. Apply the scrub on to your skin and massage it. Rinse off the scrub with lukewarm water. For best results, you can scrub at least twice a week.
