You can also get yourself a pedicure kit. Pedicure kit can be found both online and offline. Depending on the price of pedicure kit, you will find different types of pedicure tools there. I would suggest you not to go for too cheap pedicure tools as it may contain less pedicure tools and the quality will not be up to the mark. Another option is to get the pedicure tools separately and make your own pedicure kit and use it while doing pedicure at home.
# Step 1- Prep The Nails
The first step of our foot pedicure at home is to remove every traces of existing nail polish with a good nail polish remover and cotton pads. Always try to use an acetone free nail polish remover, because they are less drying. Then, take nail cutter or nail clipper and cut and trim your nails. Make sure to cut the nails straight and don’t go for rounded corners as it can lead to painful ingrown nail problem. You can soak your nails first and then cut them, because that will make the nails soft and they can be cut easily. Now take your nail filer and file the nails to get the desired shape. When you are doing pedicure at home, always give special attention to shaping the nails using a filer.
# Step 2 – Soak the Feet
Next step of our at home pedicure is to soak our feet. This is the most relaxing part of pedicure at home. All you need is a plastic tub filled with warm water. Add some baby shampoo to it and stir with your hand to create foam or bubbles. You can also add some epsom salt to this hot soapy water. Adding some fresh lemon slices and few drops of your favorite essential oil will make the experience of pedicure at home even more relaxing. When you are doing pedicure at home you have the full freedom to customize your foot soak and make the most out of it.
Now sit comfortably and soak your feet in the foot soak for 20-30 minutes and then take them out. That’s our step two of pedicure at home got done!
# Step 3 – Exfoliating the Feet
When you are doing pedicure at home, you must give importance to scrubbing your feet. Don’t be too harsh or you will end up with bruised feet. And don’t be too gentle that the dirt and dead cells don’t get cleaned up! Once you are done with foot soak, dry your feet with a soft towel. Apply some cuticle cream on and around the nails and let it soften the hard cuticles. Using a pumice stone or a foot filer, scrub your feet to remove all the dirt and dead skin cells accumulated there. Remember to be firm, but gentle enough to keep your feet safe while you are doing pedicure at home.
Now, wipe off the cuticle cream. And its the time to use one of our very important pedicure tools, which is the cuticle pusher. Push your cuticles with cuticle pusher and then, remove them by applying a good quality cuticle remover cream. This is a very important step of doing pedicure at home. This step of our pedicure at home will give a neat and pretty look to the nails and feet.
Next, clean your nails using a nail brush or an old, soft toothbrush. This will take out the dirt accumulated on the corners of the nails. Wash the feet and pat dry.
To end this step, we will apply some foot scrub on damp feet. You can get any good foot scrub from the market or make your own foot scrub at home. Apply the foot scrub all over your feet including the heels, soles, sides of your feet and of course in between your toe nails. Rinse off and pat dry.
# Step 4 – Moisturization
This is another very important step of pedicure at home. You can use any thick moisturizer or your favorite foot cream to moisturize your feet. Moisturizing our feet is important to get the full benefits of doing pedicure at home. Apply the cream or the moisturizer and massage for at least 10 minutes. This will stimulate blood circulation and rejuvenate your feet. Regular foot massage is very beneficial for our foot. Even if you cannot manage time for regular foot massage, at least do it while doing pedicure at home.
# Step 5 – Color Your Nails
This is an optional step for our pedicure at home. If you want your feet to look beautiful, glam them up with your favourite nail paint. But before that, take off the foot moisturizer from the nails with a wet cotton pad. Apply a base coat first and let it dry. Then apply a coat of your choice of shade and let it dry completely. Apply a second coat. Once the second coat is completely dry, set it with a top coat.
You can also go for french tip design while coloring your nails during the last step of doing pedicure at home. For this, first apply a base coat. Let it dry and then, paint the tips with a white nail polish. Once it dries out, apply a second coat of the white polish and wait till it dries completely. Finally, apply a transparent polish on the nails carefully and wait till it dries completely. Flaunt your pretty nails and wow everyone without burning a hole in the pocket.
