5 Celebs Who Had A Cold War With Ekta Kapoor

The unmatchable lady of Indian Televison, who made every female of India remain busy with her daily soaps, single handedly, Ekta Kapoor has been an inspiration for all and specially women. Ekta Kapoor has been ruling the silver screen since more than a decade and now seems to have setting up a firm base in Bollywood too. But it won’t be wrong to say that she is also controversy’s favorite child and lands in hot soup every now and then. Take a look at celebrities who had a tiff with telly queen Ekta Kapoor.
# Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan and Ekta Kapoor, who hasn’t spoken to each other since 2013 when their respective films, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ and ‘Chennai Express’ had clashed at the box office. It is said that SRK wants to meet with Ekta Kapoor to avoid this clash but, Ekta refused to meet. The actor had requested Kapoor organise a special screening of OUATIMD at his Mumbai bungalow, Mannat, which Kapoor refused to do.
# Sanjay Dutt
In 2008 Ekta Kapoor decided to produce a film with Suniel Shetty and Sanjay Dutt. At Suniel’s insistence, Ekta had paid Sanjay Rs 1.5 crore as signing amount for the first film. But for some reason the movie got stuck. There were also rumors of Suniel Shetty approaching Dutt’s wife Manyata Dutt asking for the repayment of the amount but there seems to be no response from her side. As per the latest reports, Ekta Kapoor has dragged to issue to court and sued Sanjay Dutt for the same.
# Sunny Leone
Ragini MMS 2 which released on March 2, 2014. At that time, their were news doing the rounds that Ekta is angry with Sunny and she do not want to work with her. It was being said that Sunny gave the team a really hard time during shoot. She would initially agree on doing certain scenes, and then later back out on the day of shoot. Sunny herself was a little miffed with Ekta and Balaji, since she wanted the concentration to be on the horror parts of the film – however, the promos focused a lot on the sexy angle, which Sunny seems to be making a conscious effort to stay away from. The actress doesn’t want to position herself only as ‘sexy’ within this industry, since she already has a career as an adult film star.
# Smriti Irani
The favourite bahu of all times, Tulsi aka Smriti Irani had walked out of ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ in 2007 post a tiff with Ekta. She was replaced by Gautami Kapoor but TRPs dropped drastically and Ekta was forced to convince Smriti back to the show. Smriti re-joined the show in 2008 and this caught a lot of media attention. Not only this, the actress-turned-politician was asked to play a dancing girl in an episode of Ekta’s TV show ‘Ek Thi Naayika’. Given her political role, Smriti allegedly refused. As a result, the makers had to change the script and Sakshi Tanwar was requested to play the part instead. Smriti and Ekta’s relationship has had its newsworthy moments.
# Rajeev Khandelwal
One of the very popular Indian TV stars, Rajeev Khandelwal had shot to fame with Balaji Telefilm’s ‘Kahin To Hoga’ and had no looking back ever since. However, Rajeev said that he didn’t need Ekta for his success and what followed was an ugly fight. An irked Ekta also went out in the media and said she would never work with him again. Things got worse when Rajeev said that he did not like Ekta’s TV programming. However, the duo have allegedly patched up now.
