The results show that American cinema is still attracting theatre goers although the comedy genre seems to be less of a draw, as on average, a comedy film in Hollywood only generated a profit of 31 million U.S. dollars in the stated time period. In comparison, animated films which often boast of huge production costs, managed to make an average profit of 325 million U.S. dollars.
