5 Video Game Records That Are Impossible To Break

We all strive to be the best, and it’s in our animal nature to be the alpha at everything, video games included. Whether it’s topping the leaderboards on your favorite multiplayer game, a speed run or simply bragging rights against a sibling, we’ve all tried and done these things.

There were also times when we wanted to challenge our own limits and skills and had an urge to find out how far we can take ourselves in order to complete a particular videogame or challenge in record time. It sure is grueling but fun in equal measures.

# The Simpsons, Highest Killstreak

Like many arcade games, it’s a true test of skill. Starting off relatively easy and slowly increasing the difficulty (obviously to make you lose and spend more money). The highest kill streak held in this game is 263, 25 points above the runner-up. What makes this such an impossible record to break, besides the stupidly high score, is the technological differences.

# PAC-MAN, Kill Screen

Marking the start of a new era, Pac-Man was released in 1980 and is in the hall of fame regarding video games, up there with the likes of Mario and Sonic. Quite possibly one of the most revolutionary video games, we all know Pac-Man. Even your grandma does.

# Tetris, High Score

The highest score is a whopping 748,757 points and is held by Uli Horner. How someone can play an handheld geometric game for so long I have no idea, but it’s a truly astounding feat. I don’t need to explain why this record won’t be broken.

# Call of Duty, Longest Uninterrupted Game

From the 80’s to present, we still have the tendency to decorate ourselves with gaming related records, and this one is no exception.

Playing continuously for 135 hours, one dedicated fan took it to the next level. He was allowed ten minute breaks at certain intervals, but all that domination paid off as he tactically stacked the breaks to allow himself an hour or so nap time.

# E.T. Highest Score

However, despite the game being the mess it was, it didn’t stop people from being the best (reference what I said about human nature) as Glenn Case managed to rack up 1,058,399 points. How? More importantly why? Is being the king of feces worth it to just have the title of a king? If you want to hate this game some more, you should know that this game alone almost killed the entire videogame industry.
