‘Badhaai Ho’ is like the desi version of ‘Kapoor & sons’, says Ayushmann Khurrana

The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Badhaai Ho has already tickled the funny bones of the audience. With this newly fresh concept of an elderly couple who are in their 50’s embracing parenthood, the trailer of the film has definitely made everyone impatient.

Shedding light on the film, the lead actor of the film Ayushmann Khurrana said, “The film is not about one character. Every character is the hero of the film. Neena Gupta who plays my mother is the heroine. The film doesn’t revolve just around my character. Sometimes you will feel that Surekha Ji who plays dadi is the central character, sometimes you will feel Gajraj Rao’s character is the main character.”

The actor further added, “I don’t know how to give a reference but Badhaai Ho is like the desi version of Kapoor & sons. Like at one point of time all the characters in Kapoor & Sons whether it was Alia’s, Siddharth’s or Rajat Kapoor’s was thought to be the main character. We had great characters in the film and there is one awkward moment, and the film revolves around it.”

On being quizzed what would be his reaction if he gets to know that someone from his family had a similar situation, “I would react the same way my character Nakul has reacted. I mean it’s great to have sex, you should go for it but what’s the point of being a parent at this age. Just like Nakul I will be ashamed. But then again, it’s your parents’ choice and completely their decision.” Concluded Ayushmann
