Biopic That Will Rule Bollywood Box Office Soon

Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with Aanand L Rai's 'Zero'. According to a report, the actor has allegedly given his nod for Rakesh Sharma's biopic 'Salute'. After few meetings with the makers, SRK has given his dates for the film, which will reportedly go on floors in September.Shah Rukh will reportedly be filming from September to November and take a break for the promotions of 'Zero' in December. He will resume the shoot in January 2019.

* Narendra Modi

The biopic trend has caught on to Bollywood and it is showing no signs of leaving anytime soon. From actor Sanjay Dutt to math wiz Anand Kumar and cricketer Kapil Dev getting their lives played out on the big-screen, it now looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi may soon be getting a biopic of his own.
According to latest reports, it will be actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha who will step into the PM’s shoes for the film allegedly being produced by Sheetal Talwar.

* Bal Thackeray

Towards the end of 2017, it was announced that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen essaying the role of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray in a film produced by party leader and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut. The first look teaser of the film went viral as soon as it released and now, Nawaz has finally begun the prep for the much-anticipated biopic. The versatile ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actor took to Instagram to share a picture of himself from Thackeray’s residence in Mumbai and posed along with the late Shiv Sena supremo’s son Uddhav Thackeray, and grandson Aaditya Thackeray.

The entire nation is still coming to terms with the loss of the Bollywood beauty Sridevi who left behind a legacy of work that could be cherished for ages. Ram Gopal Verma, known for his controversial statements, had openly expressed his love for the diva over Twitter and was grief-stricken after he learned about the actress's demise. The actress had worked with him in a Telugu movie 'Kshana Kshanam'. If the reports are anything to go by, the filmmaker plans to make a documentary on the diva.

Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film which is based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, is touted to be one of her most ambitious projects.Now a picture of Kangana from the sets has gone viral wherein you can see her in a royal avatar. This is not the first time that a picture from the set has gone viral, but what caught our eye was her royal look which is so captivating that you just cannot take eyes off her.‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is helmed by Krish who previously made his directorial debut with ‘Gabbar Is Back’ in Bollywood.

'Super 30', starring Hrithik Roshan as the famed Mathematician Anand Kumar, is currently on in full swing in Jaipur. Sporting a de-glam avatar the actor has been spotted shooting scenes on the busy city streets and by the banks of the river. If latest reports are anything to by, then the film’s portion to be shot in Bihar, will now reportedly be shot at a Mumbai studio.

Amitabh Bachchan is definitely a living legend in B-town and has always been. Kangana Ranaut too has been a trailblazer with many successful films under her belt. Now, it looks like these two great artists will come together on screen soon. According to reports, Kangana Ranaut and Amitabh Bachchan have been approached by filmmaker R. Balki for a biopic. The story is touted to be on the differently-abled Arunima Singh who became the first Indian amputee to climb Mount Everest. Big B will apparently be playing the role of a mentor not unlike his character in the film 'Black'. However, an official confirmation is awaited from either party and is expected to be out sometime this month.

* Kapil Dev

After enthralling the audience with his power-packed performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’, Ranveer Singh will soon be seen bowling out his fans in the upcoming Kapil Dev biopic ‘’83’.
The film, which was initially slated to release on April 5, 2019, will now release on August 30, 2019. The makers of the film revealed the new release date on their official Twitter handle.
The Kabir Khan film will feature actor Ranveer Singh as star cricketer Kapil Dev. Interestingly, members of the original 1983 squad will be training Ranveer Singh for the film.“The whole team will have to undergo some prep work. There will be a boot camp where they all will be trained for (playing) cricket.

* Sanjay Dutt


Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming film, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, is slated to hit theatre screens in June. However, latest reports suggest that the maverick filmmaker is not happy with a certain portion of the film and therefore plans to re-shoot it.Certain high points of Dutt's life have reportedly not been captured in the way Hirani wanted, and so he has allegedly decided to re-shoot them. The team had wrapped up shooting this film last month, but if these reports turn out to be true, then Hirani might call his cast and crew back to work.The cast of the film also includes Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and others and is scheduled to release on June 29, 2018.

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who has helmed several blockbuster films like the 'Singham' series, 'Golmaal' series, 'Chennai Express' and many more, recently expressed his interest in seeing a particular a biopic.
As per latest reports, Rohit was heard expressing his eagerness to see a biopic being made on tennis star Sania Mirza, while hosting his latest show with Karan Johar. The fact that the sportswoman has continued to represent her country, India even after marrying a Pakistani cricketer, bowled him over and gave him goosebumps. Karan, who is co-hosting the show also showed his interest in the same project.

* Lal Bahadur Shastri

On the occasion of Lal Bahadur Shastri's death anniversary last year, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had announced that his next revolved around India's second Prime Minister. Apparently, the filmmaker has managed to cast Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty for the film, which intends to investigate the "mysterious death" of the leader. Reportedly Vivek confirmed this development as he was quoted saying that Shastri’s death has been a big mystery as there have been a lot of theories around it and that he wanted to narrate the two sides of the story to the audience, and thought who better than Naseer and Mithun to act in his film as it required "credible actors."
